iPhone 17 Pro May Shift Apple Logo to Lower Position

A new leak suggests that Apple may move the iPhone 17 Pro Apple logo for the first time in six years. The change would place the logo closer to the bottom-center of the device’s rear. This adjustment appears linked to a complete redesign of the camera system, which could take up the entire top portion of the back panel.

The claim comes from well-known leaker “Majin Bu,” who shared early case designs and renderings showing the lower-positioned logo. According to Bu, the iPhone 17 Pro will feature a full-width aluminum camera bar that forces the Apple logo to shift downward. The design includes relocated elements like the flash and LiDAR sensor, which may now sit on the far right of the device.

This is the first report directly linking a top camera redesign with logo repositioning. However, it seems plausible given other expected changes. The iPhone 17 Pro may adopt a mostly aluminum rear shell with only a glass “squircle” cutout at the bottom. This glass section enables wireless charging and could serve as the new home for the relocated Apple logo.

While this might seem like a minor tweak, the implications are significant. Since the iPhone 12, the Apple logo has served as a visual cue for MagSafe alignment. Magnets sit beneath the center of the back panel, directly under the logo. Moving the logo without changing the internal magnetic array could confuse users or misalign accessories.

Majin Bu shared a clear case mockup from an Apple accessory partner. The design includes a break in the circular MagSafe ring to reveal the lower Apple logo. This indicates that Apple may leave the internal magnet placement unchanged. Instead of realigning hardware, they may only alter the logo’s external location. That way, the MagSafe system continues to work, even if the logo no longer marks the magnet’s exact center.

Accessory manufacturers are closely monitoring this development. According to Bu, some companies have already adapted their case molds to account for the logo shift. Leaker Sonny Dickson has backed up the report with schematics that match Bu’s claims. This gives further weight to the rumor and suggests the design could be near final.

Historically, Apple has moved its logo only a few times. Early iPhones placed it higher on the rear, with a small “iPhone” label at the bottom. Apple removed that label starting with the iPhone 11 and centered the logo to balance the camera bump. That centered layout has remained unchanged through the iPhone 16 Pro. The iPhone 17 Pro Apple logo shift would mark a new phase in Apple’s visual language.

Despite potential confusion for users and third-party makers, Apple may see the design change as necessary. A new camera system and wireless charging surface may leave little space for visual symmetry. Repositioning the logo into the glass cutout keeps it visible and purposeful, even if it no longer aligns with MagSafe magnets.

Whether the magnet array will eventually follow the logo is unknown. For now, leaked accessories suggest only the logo will move. If that holds true, Apple may need to revise how it communicates MagSafe alignment to users.

The iPhone 17 Pro Apple logo change could spark debate among fans, especially those who value visual consistency. However, Apple has never hesitated to reshape its devices for technical reasons. With camera modules growing larger and materials evolving, this may be the latest example of form following function.
