Nothing Phone (3) Unveiled: Say Hello to Nothing’s New Flagship
Nothing has officially launched its latest flagship, the Nothing Phone (3), nearly two years after the Phone (2). This time around, the company is pushing design and software in bold new directions.
A Radical New Look
Let’s start with the back, always the most recognizable part of a Nothing device.
The Phone (3) features a polarizing three-column grid design, with an off-centered periscope zoom camera protruding from the top-right corner. It’s unlike anything we’ve seen from the brand before — and definitely stands out in a sea of lookalike slabs.
The Glyph Matrix: A Whole New Take on Notifications
The big innovation this year is the Glyph Matrix:
- A monochrome display of 489 LEDs replacing the simpler light strips of previous models.
- You can assign custom images, animations, and app-specific messages, or even play mini-games like Spin the Bottle and Rock Paper Scissors.
- Nothing is also releasing a developer SDK, so expect more creative use cases soon.
There’s also a dedicated Glyph Button — a capacitive circle under the Matrix that vibrates and lets you scroll through different modes and features.
Quad 50MP Cameras
Nothing upgraded the cameras significantly:
- Main Camera: 50MP 1/1.3″ sensor with OIS
- Periscope Zoom: 3x optical zoom
- Ultrawide: 114° field of view
- Selfie Camera: 50MP front shooter
This setup is a major leap over the Phone (2).
Display and Build
The front is a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, same size as before but with slimmer bezels. Highlights:
- 4,500 nits peak local brightness
- FHD+ resolution
- Adaptive 30–120Hz refresh rate
Build materials remain premium, with a Gorilla Glass Victus back, Gorilla Glass 7i screen, and aluminum frame. The Phone (3) is also the first Nothing device with IP68 water resistance.
Under the Hood
Performance gets a solid upgrade:
- Chipset: Snapdragon 8s Gen 4
- Battery: 5,150 mAh silicon carbon cell
Expect better speed and battery life over the previous generation.
Software
Out of the box, the Phone (3) runs Nothing OS 3.5 based on Android 15. Nothing has confirmed that Nothing OS 4 will arrive later this quarter.
