The Subaru price increase 2025 is now affecting several models. Subaru of America is raising prices to deal with rising costs and the ongoing impact of U.S. tariffs.

In a recent statement, Subaru said it adjusted pricing in response to “current market conditions.” The company did not directly blame tariffs, but industry analysts point to the ongoing 25% tariff on imported vehicles as a key factor. This move follows similar steps by automakers like Ford, which increased prices on several Mexico-built models by up to $2,000.

The Subaru price increase 2025 will add between $750 and $2,055 USD to certain models. These changes start hitting dealership lots in June. Among the hardest hit is the Subaru Forester, which remains one of the brand’s most affordable SUVs. Depending on the trim, buyers will pay between $1,075 and $1,600 USD more for this model.

Subaru says the goal is to “offset increased costs while maintaining a solid value proposition for the customer.” The company also noted that pricing decisions are not based on a model’s country of origin. However, research from S&P Global Mobility shows that Subaru imports about 45% of its U.S.-sold vehicles, making it more vulnerable to global tariffs and rising expenses.

Executives across the auto industry have warned about the high cost of current trade policies. Leaders from major automakers estimate that tariffs could cost them as much as $5 billion this year. While some relief came for parts, the 25% tariff on complete vehicles remains in place. President Trump’s administration continues to uphold this policy, affecting around 8 million imported vehicles each year.

The Forester and other lower-cost models feel the pressure the most. These vehicles offer lower profit margins, making it harder for manufacturers to absorb rising costs. According to Cox Automotive analyst Erin Keating, price-sensitive segments like the Forester are seeing sharper hikes compared to luxury vehicles.

For buyers, the Subaru price increase 2025 could mean making faster decisions. Those interested in current pricing may want to act before June. Alternatively, they can consider certified pre-owned vehicles, which might offer better value. It’s also wise to compare Subaru’s pricing with competitors less affected by tariffs.

The Subaru price increase 2025 reflects deeper issues within the global auto market. Rising costs, ongoing tariffs, and supply chain challenges continue to shift how automakers price and sell vehicles in the U.S.
