HMD is gearing up for a major product push. Leaks have now revealed full HMD Skyline 2 specs, as well as details on the Skyline GT model and the company’s first smartwatches—Rubber 1 and Rubber 1S.
To begin with, the Skyline 2 features a 6.55-inch pOLED display. It offers FHD+ resolution, a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, and peaks at 1,200 nits of brightness. For performance, it runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip. Powering it is a 5,000 mAh battery, which supports both 33W wired and Qi 2.0 wireless charging.
In the camera department, the Skyline 2 delivers. It includes a 108 MP main sensor with OIS, a 13 MP lens, and a 50 MP secondary camera. The 50 MP front camera enhances selfies and video calls. Additionally, it comes with stereo speakers, magnetic wireless charging, and an IP54 rating. It runs Android 15 and will receive three major OS upgrades—ensuring long-term support.
Meanwhile, the Skyline 2 GT steps things up. It uses the same display size but increases peak brightness to 2,000 nits. Instead of the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, it runs on the more powerful Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. This model also includes 12GB of RAM for smoother multitasking.
Its camera system is even more advanced. It features a 108 MP main lens, two 50 MP sensors, and a 3D ToF unit for improved depth sensing. The selfie camera remains 50 MP. The GT model maintains the 5,000 mAh battery but charges faster at 45W. Like the standard model, it supports Qi 2.0 magnetic charging.
Importantly, the Skyline GT boasts a better IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. It also includes a dedicated camera button and a customizable action key, offering more control to power users.
On the wearable front, HMD is entering new territory. The Rubber 1 smartwatch runs Wear OS (exact version is still unknown). It features a 1.85-inch OLED display and surprisingly includes a 2 MP built-in camera. For connectivity, it offers Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi, and NFC. Furthermore, it comes with heart rate tracking, SpO2 monitoring, and motion sensors. Its 400 mAh battery supports Qi wireless charging, and it carries a 5ATM water resistance rating.
The Rubber 1S takes a more compact approach. It also runs Wear OS and includes the same health tracking capabilities. However, it uses a smaller 1.07-inch OLED screen and a 290 mAh battery. It supports Bluetooth 5.0 and Qi wireless charging too, and is also 5ATM-rated.
Clearly, HMD aims to make a strong impression in both smartphones and wearables. The leaked specs point to a brand pushing into premium territory. With Android 15, high-refresh-rate OLED displays, powerful cameras, and solid build quality, the Skyline line may become a serious contender.
Moreover, the Rubber smartwatches show that HMD is embracing the growing demand for affordable yet capable wearables. These devices offer a good mix of modern features and practical design.
If these leaks are accurate, HMD could soon compete more aggressively in both markets. Fans of the brand—and those looking for alternatives to mainstream giants—should keep an eye on these launches.
