Apple is reportedly working on updated versions of its Magic Mouse 2, Magic Trackpad 2, and Magic Keyboard, according to information found in the iOS 18.1 release candidate. These new accessories are expected to include several variations of the Magic Keyboard, with models featuring Touch ID, number pads, and versions without these features.
While details are still limited, it’s highly anticipated that these accessories will follow Apple’s recent trend of switching from Lightning to USB-C for charging, given that current models still use Lightning. There is also speculation that Apple may redesign the Magic Mouse to relocate its charging port, as the current placement on the bottom has been widely criticized.
These new accessories are expected to launch alongside upcoming M4 Mac models, including updates to the MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac, which could arrive by the end of October.
