The iPhone 17 Air could be Apple’s most anticipated phone in years. With a sleek, lightweight design and new battery technology, it promises to offer a fresh take on premium smartphones. Leaks now suggest that it weighs just 145 grams and comes with a 2,800mAh battery.

According to trusted leaker “yeux1122” on Korea’s Naver blog, the iPhone 17 Air will weigh about 145 grams. That’s even lighter than the iPhone SE 2 (148g) and the iPhone 13 mini (141g). Apple plans to combine a large 6.6-inch screen with a thin and portable frame.

The leak also mentions a 2,800mAh battery. This matches the iPhone 12’s battery size. But Apple may use high-density battery technology to improve power efficiency. This would allow the phone to stay slim without sacrificing much battery life.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said earlier this year that the iPhone 17 Air would use a high-density battery. A newer report says Apple’s supplier, TDK, is ready to ship next-gen silicon-anode batteries by June 2025. These batteries store more power in less space, making them ideal for thin devices like the Air.

Despite this, not all the news sounds promising. Wayne Ma from The Information reported that internal Apple tests show limited all-day battery use. Only 60% to 70% of users could make it through the day on one charge. By contrast, other iPhones support full-day use for 80% to 90% of users.

To solve this issue, Apple may launch a dedicated battery case for the iPhone 17 Air. This would offer users more flexibility without changing the phone’s slim design. It could also boost performance for power users.

Not all sources agree on the battery outlook. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman believes the battery life will match current iPhones. He attributes this to Apple’s hardware and software optimizations. These improvements should help the Air run more efficiently.

The iPhone 17 Air may also include Apple’s custom C1 modem. This chip could use less energy than current modems, which helps improve battery performance. Reports also suggest the phone might skip the Ultra Wide camera. That move could free up space for a larger battery or better internal airflow.

At just 5.5mm thick, the iPhone 17 Air may become Apple’s slimmest phone ever. It will replace the current Plus model in Apple’s lineup and launch in September 2025. Buyers can expect pastel color options and a design that blends beauty with performance.

In summary, the iPhone 17 Air offers a bold mix of portability, innovation, and style. While some concerns about battery life remain, Apple’s move toward silicon-anode batteries and efficient chipsets could ease those fears. All eyes now turn to Apple’s fall event, where we’ll finally see the iPhone 17 Air in action.
