Just two days before Unpacked, a new Samsung foldables leak has surfaced, revealing updated specifications for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE. The leak, shared by Roland Quandt of WinFuture via Bluesky, appears to come from internal or promotional materials. It suggests some surprises that contradict earlier reports and adds momentum to the already hyped launch event.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 appears thinner and lighter than its predecessor. According to the leaked table, the Fold 7 features an 8.9mm chassis that unfolds to just 4.2mm. The device weighs 216 grams, making it lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The phone pairs a 6.5-inch exterior screen with an 8-inch inner display and runs on Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. One spec that remains consistent with previous rumors is the inclusion of a 200MP main camera. However, Samsung continues to limit the battery capacity to 4,000mAh, which may disappoint power users. Quandt later confirmed that a 1TB storage option will be available in select regions, even though it doesn’t appear on this initial list.
The Flip 7 and Flip 7 FE also feature in this Samsung foldables leak, though with fewer details. The table omits processor information, leaving one of the last unknowns unresolved. Still, the sheet claims that both models share identical screen sizes: 6.9 inches on the main panel and 4.1 inches on the outer display. That claim contradicts previous leaks, which suggested a smaller, more basic screen for the budget-friendly Flip 7 FE. Earlier renders also hinted at a Flip 5-style design for the FE model. This conflict raises doubts about the accuracy of the table, though it’s possible that Samsung is planning a bigger screen for both clamshell models to stay competitive.
Designers and early adopters may find the Flip 7 FE’s launch color options limited, with only black and white listed. This strategy suggests Samsung is keeping the base version simple to maintain its lower price point. The lack of more vibrant color variants could push users toward the regular Flip 7, depending on availability and regional pricing.
With Unpacked set for Wednesday, July 9th at 10 a.m. ET, time is running out for fans to reserve their spot. Samsung is offering a no-cost, no-obligation reservation that comes with a $50 pre-order credit. Buyers can use the credit toward accessories or devices like the Galaxy Watch 8. Other offers include 3x reward points, savings of up to $1,150, and a chance to win $5,000 in Samsung credit.
As the clock ticks down to Unpacked, this Samsung foldables leak has intensified speculation. If the Flip 7 FE truly features a full-size outer display, it could challenge Motorola’s Razr line in the mid-range foldables segment. Samsung may use this opportunity to redefine expectations for budget foldables while maintaining its lead in the category. Only a full reveal will confirm whether the leaked specs align with the final product. Either way, anticipation continues to grow as launch day approaches.
