RØDE Direct Connect is expanding across the company’s premium wireless microphone lineup, bringing seamless Bluetooth pairing to more creators. The Australian audio brand has rolled out a free firmware update that enables Wireless GO (Gen 3) and Wireless PRO transmitters to connect directly to iOS devices without a physical receiver.

The RØDE Direct Connect feature, first introduced with the Wireless Micro, allows users to pair transmitters straight to an iPhone via Bluetooth using the free RØDE Capture app. As a result, creators can eliminate extra hardware and simplify mobile recording setups while maintaining broadcast-quality sound.

RØDE Direct Connect Enhances Mobile Recording

With RØDE Direct Connect now available on Wireless GO (Gen 3) and Wireless PRO, users gain more flexibility when working in the field. The pairing process works directly through Bluetooth, removing the need for a receiver and reducing gear clutter.

Through the RØDE Capture app, creators can record in merged or split modes. In merged mode, audio from both transmitters combines into a single stereo track that is ready to publish. In split mode, each transmitter records to its own channel, offering greater control during editing.

The app also includes in-app output gain control. This allows users to adjust levels in real time and maintain balanced recordings in dynamic environments.

Wireless GO (Gen 3) Gains Even More Versatility

The Wireless GO (Gen 3) remains one of the most widely used compact wireless microphone systems. Now, with RØDE Direct Connect integrated, the system becomes even more streamlined for mobile creators.

Built on RØDE’s Series IV 2.4GHz digital transmission platform, the third-generation model offers reliable wireless performance and compatibility across the Series IV ecosystem. It includes 32-bit float onboard recording, intelligent GainAssist technology, and 32GB of internal storage for direct transmitter recording.

The addition of RØDE Direct Connect means users can set up faster and operate with fewer accessories. The system is also available in multiple color options, allowing creators to match their equipment to their visual style.

Wireless PRO Targets Professional Creators

Wireless PRO, designed for filmmakers and advanced content producers, also benefits from the RØDE Direct Connect update. The compact system already stands out with features such as timecode sync and an extended 260-meter line-of-sight transmission range.

These features support precise audio synchronization and reliable long-distance recording. Now, professionals can quickly switch to direct iPhone pairing when mobile capture is required.

Wireless PRO integrates with the broader RØDE Series IV ecosystem, including the RØDECaster Pro II, RØDECaster Duo, and RØDECaster Video. The firmware update adds convenience without removing any advanced functionality.

Pricing and Availability

RØDE Direct Connect is available immediately through a free firmware update within the RØDE Capture app. The update applies to Wireless GO (Gen 3) and Wireless PRO systems worldwide.

The Wireless GO (Gen 3) is priced at US$199, while Wireless PRO retails for US$299. Recent price reductions of 33 percent for Wireless GO (Gen 3) and 25 percent for Wireless PRO further enhance value for creators.

By expanding RØDE Direct Connect across more devices, the company strengthens its position in the compact wireless microphone market. The update delivers a cleaner workflow, faster setup, and the freedom of true wireless recording for a growing community of mobile creators.
