As MediaTek prepares to officially unveil its Dimensity 9400 chipset on October 9, leaks are already providing a glimpse into its impressive capabilities. The Dimensity 9400 has reportedly surpassed Apple’s A18 chip in GPU benchmarks and topped the AnTuTu charts.
According to well-known leakster Digital Chat Station, the Dimensity 9400’s CPU will feature one Cortex-X925 super-large core clocked at up to 3.626 GHz, three Cortex-X4 large cores, and four Cortex-A720 or A725 cores. The mention of Cortex-A720 could be a typo, as the A725 is Arm’s latest design. The X4 and A720/A725 cores will reportedly be clocked similarly to last year’s Dimensity 9300, with the X4 cores reaching up to 2.85 GHz and the A720/A725 cores at 2 GHz.
The chipset will also come equipped with the Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU, clocked at 1,612 MHz, offering powerful graphics performance.
The Dimensity 9400 is set to compete with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (which may be renamed Snapdragon 8 Elite). Both chips promise significant improvements over their predecessors, but the Dimensity 9400 is rumored to offer comparable performance at a more affordable price point, making it an exciting option in the flagship chipset market.
