Google’s Gemini Live conversational AI, recently made available for free, is expanding its language capabilities. Starting today, and gradually rolling out over the coming weeks, Gemini Live will support more than 40 languages. Users will be able to engage in conversations using up to two languages on the same device, with plans for even more language support in the future.
Prior to this expansion, Gemini Live was limited to English, German, Spanish, French, and Portuguese, making this a significant upgrade. While Google hasn’t yet shared the full list of languages, this update promises to bring the AI experience to a much broader audience.
To update your preferred languages for Gemini Live, simply open the Google app, go to Settings > Google Assistant > Languages, and select your language preferences.
In addition to language expansion, Gemini Live will soon integrate with various apps in more languages. For example, it will help users manage tasks like adding ingredients from a recipe in Gmail to Google Keep, setting reminders for events using information from photos, and notifying users about upcoming movie releases.
