At MWC Barcelona (March 2-5), Quectel Wireless Solutions launched the FGH200M, a Wi-Fi HaLow module that significantly increases the 2.4GHz range by up to 10 times. This long-range, low-power solution is based on the IEEE 802.11ah wireless standard and is designed for various IoT use cases.
Increased Range with Low Power Consumption
The FGH200M operates in the sub-1GHz license-exempt frequency band, offering coverage of up to 1km. This range makes it ideal for both indoor and outdoor deployments. The module also features low power consumption, supporting massive device connectivity, which is vital for large-scale IoT applications.
Specifications and Applications
The module provides a data rate of 43.3Mbps and operates in the 850-950MHz frequency band. It supports multiple interfaces, including USB 2.0, SDIO, and SPI, making it versatile for a range of IoT devices. The FGH200M can theoretically support up to 8,191 IoT devices through a single access point.
Applications for the module include smart agriculture, home and industrial automation, smart cities, retail environments, warehouses, and campuses.
Compact Design and Enhanced Security
The FGH200M module measures just 11.0mm x 10.0mm x 2.0mm and weighs 0.51g, making it compact for easy integration. It operates in a temperature range from -40°C to +85°C. Security encryption modes include AES, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512, WPA3, and OWE, ensuring robust protection for IoT deployments.
Quectel also provides matched antenna devices, including the YECN009AA and YENT065W1BM, for use with the FGH200M module.
