Samsung has rolled out a significant update to its Samsung Health app, transforming it into a comprehensive health management platform. The latest update introduces new features that allow users to access their medical records, manage medications, and track their food intake, making it an all-in-one app for health and wellness.

Key Features of the Samsung Health Update:
- Access to Medical Records: The updated app now lets users access their medical records from clinics, hospitals, and major health networks. Samsung has partnered with b.well Connected Health, a service integrated with major Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems in the US, such as Cerner Health, Epic Systems, and Veradigm. Users can now view lab results, vitals, and past hospital visits directly within the app.The Health Records feature also provides alerts and insights, recommending medical tests based on your health history, including vaccinations, prescriptions, and other relevant health data.
- Medication Tracking: After being launched in the US last year, the medications tracking feature is now expanding to South Korea and India. This feature allows users to:
- Add medications by scanning the pill bottle with their phone’s camera.
- Get information on dosage schedules, missed doses, and detailed medication info such as descriptions, side effects, warnings, and drug interactions.
- Food and Nutrition Tracking: The app also introduces a food barcode scanner, allowing users to quickly log their meals by scanning food barcodes. This feature provides nutrition facts (in collaboration with fatsecret) and helps users track their calories and nutritional intake. Initially, this is available in the US and select European countries like France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Poland, with plans for a broader rollout later.
With these updates, Samsung Health is now more than just a fitness app—it’s a powerful tool for managing multiple aspects of personal health, from medical records to daily nutrition and medication routines. This update aims to make it easier for users to stay on top of their health, offering a streamlined, integrated platform.
