The 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), officially known as the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship 2024, marks the 8th edition of this prestigious biennial football tournament. Organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the competition is unique for featuring national teams comprised solely of players active in their respective local leagues.
Scheduled to take place from 1 to 28 February 2025, this edition will be hosted jointly by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda—a first in CHAN history where three countries are co-hosting the event.
Host Selection
The co-hosting rights for the 2024 CHAN were awarded to Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda on 17 December 2023. The decision serves as a dress rehearsal for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will also be hosted in East Africa.
