Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi A4 5G in India, making it the first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset. This device is set to be one of the most affordable 5G phones in the country, launching at a price below INR 10,000 (approximately $120). The phone shares a similar design with the Redmi 14R and Redmi 14C, featuring a large circular camera island housing a 50MP main camera.
As part of Xiaomi’s 10-year celebration in India, the Redmi A4 5G aims to deliver 5G connectivity to a broader audience. Muralikrishnan B, President of Xiaomi India, emphasized the company’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and accelerating the country’s transition to 5G with this entry-level device.
While the full specs haven’t been disclosed, it’s expected that the Redmi A4 5G will come with a 6.7-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Other rumored features include an 8MP front camera and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging support.
