Motorola has started rolling out the Android 15 beta to some of its devices, specifically targeting the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion units. This marks a significant improvement for the company, which has been slower with software updates in the past. However, Motorola is now offering 5 years of major OS updates for most of its Edge 50 series smartphones, and users won’t have to wait as long for these updates anymore.
By seeding Android 15 beta, Motorola is ahead of some major competitors, including Samsung, which has yet to open its OneUI 7 and Android 15 beta program. Samsung is expected to release its stable version in early 2025, whereas Motorola could potentially deliver a stable Android 15 update by the end of this year, depending on how smoothly the beta testing phase goes.
